I'm at about the same speed range as you are. I sometimes answer a CQ that is sent a bit faster than I am comfortable with, and when they match my sending speed I appreciate it, even if I haven't asked them to. I try to do the same for others. I just think it is the considerate thing to do. I've been on the receiving end of CW sent a bit too fast, so I know how it feels.

Hi Garth, yes it seems the right thing to do. just today a station called me back but much faster than i had sent but halfway through his return i heard him slow down and without me asking. it was a relief i wasn't going to have to maybe struggle to keep up so maybe this is how others feel when i do it .

I use straight key, I can receive faster than I can send.
also I had QSO with person who had stroke.  he was sending less than 5 wpm.  once he told me he can listen 20 + wpm, I speed up.
