The basics. I have a 2009 MINI Cooper Clubman. I'm not going to drill into the roof. I'd like to attempt to go with a glass mount dual band 5/8 wave antenna. As for the rig, I'd like a small mobile. I've had a great run with the FT-7800 but I'd like a smaller foot print. I currently have the Wouxun HT with a 'Hershey Kiss' magmount dual band antenna. The MINI is in the shop but will be out soon and I would really prefer to not put the Hershey Kiss on the roof.

So what am I asking?  Anyone ever been or is in the same situation as me or something like it? Curious to see if anyone has had any luck with a decent glass mount dual band antenna.  Any recommendations on a smaller sized mobile dual band rig?

Any information is greatly appreciated

You'll have lousy performance. Glass mounts have two problems.

First, they don't work well on modern vehicles with passivated glass, which the Cooper has. Secondly, the coax cable does most of the radiating, and considering the Mini has about 15 computers inside it, you sure don't want any RFI.

If all else fails, use a Larsen angle bracket, with an NMO2/70BK attached.
