If your interested in controling your FT-2000 via your desktop or laptop computer and not have to mess around with those menu's on the radio, then you should check out
www.ft-1000.com and once your on the site download the file: AWH_MC. This program is pretty neat and fun to play with, it will control both your transmit and receive parameters and works via the Serial Port on the back of the radio. Before you can get it to work you will need to make sure and change the menu settings on your FT-2000 as follows: Menu No. 27 to 384000, Menu No. 28 to 3000 and verify that Menu No. 29 in ON. The menu no's might be different in updated radio's so refer to your radio manual for the names of these items you need to change.
