I'm thinking about moving my station QTH to Griffith Ontario, but I am concerned about the hills to the north & east.  Has anyone from the Ottawa Valley region operated HF from Griffith?  I am active on SSB RTTY and PSK to European DX so if the hills are a problem I wont be moving the station to Griffith.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.......thanks

Wow I did not know there were hills that big up near Ottawa!

I doubt those hills will bother you on HF. VHF/UHF maybe but not HF.

If there is no man made noise there and it is a nice lot and house I'd make the move.

Griffith is about 90 minutes from Ottawa, and the Madawaska Highlands run east-west just to the north of Griffith.  The elevation of the Highlands is I think about 600 to 800 ft.  I can here the FM broadcast stations from Ottawa & Pembroke coming across the hills
