I recently moved to New Mexico and am getting back into ham radio after a lengthy absence. According to a German contest calendar I pulled up on the web recently, there is a New Mexico QSO Party in August -- but I haven't been able to find any details about it, or even any mention of it on any other site or calendar. The only QST reference to it that I could find was in 1996. Nothing since then. Does anyone know if it is still being held? Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

Contact you ARRL manager for NM, W5PDY@arrl.org. He should know who you should contact about starting a QSO party in NM. Perhaps there is a contest club in NM that would like to undertake a venture like this. There might be a southwest QSO Party, etc.

There was an "Arizona QSO Party" mentioned in some ham radio fiction I ran across some time ago. The author used a fictitious contest so he wouldn't get in trouble with the organizers of a real one by that same name. Seems to me a Southwest QSO Party might be a lot of fun.
