I use a right handed iambic paddles with my left hand.
so the dahs are on the thumb

funny with I switch to the right hand the basic squeezing is the same motion just with different fingers.

When I got started a big gun dxer suggested that I should learn left handed so I could right with my right hand.. a more ergonomic position for the back too.  Not knowing any better I started to learn to use my new Vibroplex Brass racer with my left hand but did not change paddles.
