First off, I am new to RTTY......VERY NEW !!!

My question is, this weekend is the JARTS RTTY Contest. JARTS is the Japaneese Amateur Radio Teleprinters Society.

Is this normally a contest that has a high level of participation Huh

I was somewhat surprized at the level of activity during the Makrothen RTTY contest a week or so ago.
For some reason, I expected the Makrothen to be a very small affair with little participation, but there was some decent activity to be found including some nice DX.
So, I am asking those who have participated in past years for opinions.

This might be a decent chance to pick up some additional DXCC entities in the South Pacific/VK/ZL/JA from my PEANUT WHISTLE station.
(It is less than a peanut whistle, but you do what you can with what you have)

My second week in RTTY. I guess we have the answer to your question now. I heard you work UW8I (or try to). I got him a few minutes later. A lot of QSB and QRM and QRN. I wish the USA stations would stay in S&P mode and let the DX come through.
