I cannot get HRD to work with my FT-450AT.  It displays that it can't read the frequency.  I have a straight through DB-9 cable with a serial/usb converter.  It won't work either way.  This is becoming exceptionally frustrating.  If anybody can help me with this, I would deeply appreciate it.  You can reply to this, but if you can also copy it and send me an email, I would also appreciate it.  Thanks!  Steve  Undecided

Your USB to serial is likely the problem. If you have Vista or Windows 7, you need an adapter that has drivers for it. I have a FT-950 with Windows 7 running HRD 5.0. I use this:
