Hello, all!

Well Santa finally heard my pleas and brought radio goodies this year!  The problem is this:  I have built the Ramsey CW700 Memory Keyer and checked it more than twice.   When I plug the keyer ouput cable into the TS820, I get a solid carrier.  My guess is that the output FET and filter cap are both attatched to ground and to the output line, thus creating a complete circuit (i.e. a closed key).  I have experimented with cable configuration, to no avail.  One of my friends mentioned something about having to slightly reconfigure the keyer to work with the older rig...but Ramsey's lit and website make no mention of this.  Any help would be appreciated.

Well, enter the world of blocked-grid keying.

Thanks to KC5LVW for mentioning that he had once heard something about it.

It seems that the keying line on the TS820 is -65V.  Thus the solid state keyer will not key the rig without an adapter.
