I am tuning up a MSF for the first time and have all of the tuning equipment and the tuning manual. But I am lost as to how to get audio out of the speaker from the Motorola TLN2414 Test Set. As I recall I have only seen (heard) an HT being used. What am I not doing?

Humbly,

LOL! That kinda worked. I wiggled and wonked, wiggled some more until the contacts were clean.

Now I have a damn beep every 10 seconds telling me that the battery charger voltage is +/- 3.5VDC. Sad I'm not charging batteries so I wonder if this matters. TPN1185 and TPN1186. Google is my friend.

Wiggle the wires on the battery charger connector.  If you can't get it fixed, I think there's a jumper on the SCB that will disable it.

That beep also tells you the battery is missing.  You may have to install one to get rid of it.

I've run a lot of them without batteries and they don't beep.
