I have an Icom 718 and a Vibroplex Original key. When I hook up to the radio, in CW mode, I ..... rapidly and it won't stop. if I unhook the wires I dont hear any code so I"m wondering what could be wrong. Thanks KI4BDS Karl

Bugs are connected like straight keys, not paddles. Turn the electronic keyer off. Go into Initial Setup Mode by holding the set button while turning the rig on. Go to "CW PADDL" and select "off".
