I'm mounting an IC-208 in my 2009 MDX, and the rig is pretty much ready.  I had purchased a Comet CA-2x4SR as the antenna (NMO mount), and one of the Comet heavy duty "trunk lip" mounts to use on the rear hatch.  However, in looking it over today, the MDX hatch has seals and sheet metal all the way out to the edge of the door, making the use of the clamp mount impossible without some kind of modification.  What have others used for mounting on an MDX?  I thought this was going to be easy!

You need a hood seam mount, and the Comet lip mount won't work. There is precious clearance on a MDX to mount one, but if you're careful, it will fit. The best place is to the very rear of the hood, on the right side.

Thanks, Alan, for the note here and offline.
