Larry that TL-933 looks pretty nifty!--pity it did not make it out of Japan!. With many new high power mosfets available today--they could easily produce a linear with remote supply that would not be very much larger than the tS-590s--perhaps it could be remotely watercooled as well--Hi!..
I've had my TS-590s now for three weeks, the first unit I sent back because of audio distortion on TX, the second I modified because the fans would not run-even if the rig got stinking hot!.( I'd be dammned to send my new rig to a repair workshop where my rig will be chucked in a pile to lie there gathering dust for months at end!.)
So not off to a good start. It works great on RX, the TX processor leaves much to be desired--it is now audio again instead of RF and it never sounds loud without sounding 'fuzzy' even with less than 5dB of compression.
Even in the dummy load it does not sound quite right--bias is OK, no RF feedback present.
If I compare to the TS-830s and TS-2000 the TS-590s processor needs work-perhaps a later firmware update will sort out the issue?..
It is almost as if the attack time on the processor is too fast, distorting the audio in the process.

Thanks for the tip Greg.

I used a set of PC loudspeakers and that sounds great--if you use the amplified variety simply install A 10 ohm resistor in an mono plug to terminate the audio out and your'e away!.
I fail to see how they allow 5kc's audio on RX and install a loudspeaker that can only reproduce 'telephone' type audio.

Similarly I commented about the 'Flat response' mics but was shot down--why are aftermarket 'tailored' mics like Heil so popular then I wonder..
