Has anyone had any trouble with Aero-Smith?  They present themselves as an MFJ dealer and have the MFJ logos (and the MFJ sister companies).  I ordered a product well over a month ago and have no product or updates from them as to when I can expect my product.  When I did email them about when I might receive my order, they responded by brushing me off with a "you should have read our disclaimer" message.

From their website:
We DO NOT STOCK the items, they are sent from the factory to us when you place an order, and then we ship them to the customer.  PLEASE do not order if you are not in agreement with this. Please be advised that we have to place most orders from the factory. Most orders are processed same day but some items may take up to several weeks for delivery. Your credit card account will not be charged at the time of purchase, only when order is shipped. If you are not satisfied with the shipping time involved then please do not order.  We try our best to get orders out on a quick turn around time but sometimes these orders are back ordered. We offer low prices because we have very low over head and pass the savings on to you. Please make sure you are in agreement with our policy before you place an order. Thanks for your continued support and business. We are a web based business only. No phone orders

I would not be too concerned at this point. I have ordered a few things from MFJ direct and have had to wait several weeks ...( I think they build them to order? )

Look carefully at their disclaimer. They don't actually have anything they sell but have the cheapest price.

Reminds me of the fable of the housewife in a town with two butcher shops. She looks at the prices on the window, sees that it's cheaper (39 cents a pound) at shop A, and goes into shop A, asks for two pounds of pork chops. Butcher A says "we're all out of pork chops". She goes to butcher shop B and tries to convince them to sell pork chops at the competitor's cheaper price. Butcher B won't budge. After further discussion, Butcher B says "If I didn't have any pork chops, I could sell them for 39 cents a pound too!".

What was the item?

Their policy is a bit risky for buyers, since MFJ stocks almost nothing themselves; their inventory is all at their dealers, which of course are numerous.

I never order anything directly from MFJ because they never have it.  The dealers might (I call around to find out), and usually charge less than the MFJ "direct" price.

I have had the experience of having my last two orders, direct from MFJ, back-ordered.  Of course, when you go to their website, there is NO indication that is the case until your package with in-stock items (if any) arrives.  NEVER again will I order direct from MFJ and DEFINITELY not from this Areo-Smith outfit!

If a price seems to be too good to be true, there is probably something involved that compensates for that ridiculously low price.  Like I said in another thread, overhead is one of the reasons that all too many of the electronics parts outfits have left some states.  Paying taxes on on hand parts and stock will never make a price go down.
