Does anyone have a manual with schematic for a World Radio Labs CW-7 Novice Transmitter from the early 1950's? I have been able to find magazine ads, but no schematic. CQ Magazine had a review in October 1952, but no schematic!!

Poke around in here... http://bama.edebris.com/manuals/wrl/

Be sure to take a look at the Chief 90 as it was a Novice transmitter that may have a family resemblance to your CW-7.

It would more likely resemble the design of the Globe Scout 40 which is an older version of
the popular Glodbe Scout series.   Have you tried googling WRL or World Radio Labortories?
Sometimes you will uncover lots of information tucked away.  Also look up Leo Meyerson as
the was the founder of WRL.  Also you can find schematics etc. in old copies of Radio
Electronics and other magazines of the late 1940's amd 1950's.

Hey LooK!!!!      NOTE:  The first time I tried I got a schematic and picture
closed site and now it doesn't allow me to get
                                   Schematic.  Huh?    Sorry

I found the mother lode for the CW-7

Go to http://www.tinylist.org/html

There is a great schematic and a not so good picture of this little glowbug.

I have beat my head against a rock.  I can't get the site back where I saw the schematic.
If I had known it would vanish I would have saved it.  So a schematic of the CW-7 exists
but who knows where?   All I can say is that it uses a 70L7 which is essentially a 6V6 with
a seventy volt filament.  The other tubes (which I didn't record the numbers for) have their
filaments in series with the 70L7 to make up aproximate line voltage.  Rest of the circuit is
pretty much standard with somewhere around 5 watts output.  So it would have the power
capability of the Heath  AT-1 and other low power transmitters of the period.  So nothing special.
I have one other possiblity.  Jim Musgrove K5BZH   (K5bzh@yahoo.com) has been working
with Leo Meyerson (founder of WRL and about 92 years old and still going) to improve the
written history of WRL and might possibly have a schematic.  I warn you he will talk or
email your leg off if he is interested.
Hope this helps (I don't know why someone would go to the trouble of putting something
online and then hiding it once you enter the site)

Allen, I have bad news.  Leo died about a year ago....

Thanks,  I knew that Leo was gone, but it slipped my mind (which is not young anymore)
I was too involved with the problem at hand.  It is hard to think of ham radio with no
Leo.  He provided inexpensive but good quality equipment for thousands of hams over the
years.  Physically small he cast a large shadow.  A man with many abilities including being
an accomplished pianist.  He is missed.

Thanks guys! I've seen the schematic at the "tiny" URL, but it was not the original. I emailed Jim Musgrove to see if he could point me in the right direction. Funny....you just don't see many of these around....I've never see ONE in the flesh. It does not resemble the other Novice rigs WRL put out....it's AC/DC  using a 70L7 and 50L6. Thanks for all the suggestions! 73!
