My JT65-HF program will run 5 to 15 minutes or more and then just disappears from the screen.  I've downloaded / re-installed several times, but it keeps doing it.  It varies every time I use it, as to when it will shut off.  Any Suggestions on what might be causing it?  thanks... Greg NS2X

Can you give us more details? What operating system are you running? What are the processors and memory? What other programs are running? What do the OS logs say is happening? What version of JT65 are you running? Have you tried running an older version of JT65?

Try running JT65 HF on Windows XP. When I installed JT65 on my computer with Windows 7 Home Premium, it would run about 10 minutes and then stop decoding signals. Very frustrating. Then I went to Control Panel and told the computer to run JT65 under the XP compatibility mode and it works fine that way. Or if you have Windows 7 Professional, you can install XP on your computer and run JT65 that way.

Some tell me that JT65 runs OK on their machines with Windows 7 but not on mine.

I am having the same problem with both the 1.07 and 1.09 versions of JT65 HF.  I am running Windows XP.  JT65 HF shut down twice on me last night.  After restarting it a third time it worked fine.  Anyone else have this problem?

How much memory and what CPU???

Reason I ask is my guess here you are low on RAM and you are getting a page fault and program is crashing.

You got to love how people post their issues. Then you ask for more information and they do not ever respond again. You have to ask how serious they were at getting the problem resolved.

Or it could be that they found the answer, and it was so obvious and embarrassing that they decided not to repost because they feel like idiots for not having fixed it before they asked. The radio equivalent of finding out that the reason you can't see anything on your screen is because the monitor is not plugged in.

Um, don't ask me how I know about this.

Yes.  Mine works fine 99% of the time and suddenly and unexpectedly it simply quits decoding, usually at the worst possible moment.  I close and reopen it and it works fine.  Usually happens once per session.  This past weekend it happend three times in 4 hours.  I've lost a couple of QSOs because of it. I don't believe it's hardware related, since the waterfall continues to run and so does HRD, my log book, etc.  It seems to be worse when there's alot of traffic to decode.

I'm not prepared to say this is the reason, but a couple of times it stopped decoding right after I double-clicked on another QSO in progress.  I was preparing to tailend someone and clicked on their 73 to the other station to 'pre-load' their call, and it quit decoding.  That's not consistently repeatable, but it leads me to believe there's an issue with the software.

Yep, same problem here, just stops decoding.  Running XPpro w/ 2GB memory.  Also have DXLab suite running
I'll have to try JT65 w/o DX Lab and see what happens
