I realize there is a RTTY test this weekend. At least I guess there is. But WHY do they have to run RTTY way down below 7010? Before someone yells at me that it is ALLOWED, I know that, but that portion of the band (and higher) is "usually"(?) used for CW, not RTTY.  Huh  Gene AF3Y

It was the CQ WPX RTTY contest. And yes, that portion of the band is usually used for CW (usually being the keyword). Next weekend the situation will reverse for the ARRL DX CW contest, with CW overflowing to parts of the band that are usually used for digital. The band gets used for the mode that is in the highest demand at the time.

The "CW WPX RTTY" contest? That's a new one on me!   Grin
