Right now it is a chilly 48F here in the North Bay. I am glad you clarified the info on the iMic. I had pulled up the Specs both on the iPad and iMic and was confused over the USB issue. The Pic of the iMic I see shows a USB type plug:

Well I was hoping the iMic had a USB Port that you could plug in another USB device.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgQnxiifsTwI think the biggest issue is keying the Radio. You want to use the 6pin DataPort on the 706. Since the iPad does not have a USB or RS-232 Ports for PTTing the Radio some form of Vox is needed. Check out this link:
