Hello!!

Would anyone out there be able to help me wire my Kenwood MC-50 microphone up correctly to the 8-pin plug that's required on my Kenwood TS-570S?

I thought I had wired it correctly, but it won't key the radio (so I'm also going to assume that there is no audio either)?  The mic is dual impedance and will work with the required input impedance of this radio.

Here's the way it WAS wired to the original 4-pin plug:
Yellow = Pin 1
Purple = Pin 2
Red = Pin 3
Shield = Pin 4

and here is the way it is wired right now (does not work) coming out of the mic base to the 8-pin plug:
Yellow =  Pin 1 (radio PTT)
Red = Pin 2 (radio mic)
Sheild = Pin 7 (radio gnd/mic)
Purple = Pin 8 (radio gnd/standby)

Any or all help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you all for your advice and suggestions, I really appreciate it.

I disassembled the 8-pin connector and found a cold solder joint on the center pin (pin-8) had broken loose and was intermittent.  I resoldered the connection and the mic keys the radio and the audio is good!

Anyone wiring an older Kenwood mic up to a new(er) radio, could probably use the wire to pin breakouts I provided and be ready to go.
