I monitor 146.52 while driving.  Sometimes I'll call if I'm stuck sitting in traffic or on the open road out of town.  Otherwise, in town on a normal day, I just monitor and hope another ham see's my HAM call license plate and bumper sticker that says 146.52.....however, after 8 years that still hasn't occurred yet.

My last long QSO on 146.52 was on Interstate 17 between Flagstaff and Phoenix stuck in a 10 mile traffic jam due to a travel trailer roll over.  About 2 miles ahead of me was a ham visiting from Texas who was also monitoring it.  We chatted for awhile and I kept him apprised of the highway patrol radio traffic/status using my dual bander.
