Can anyone recommend a circuit analysis program for the PC that will run under XP? I have used Spice, but that was 35 years ago on a main frame. This is for hobby use, but I don't want something that is too stripped down. I don't anticipate modeling any circuits with more than 4 opamps or transistors. I need something that can sweep frequency and output a Bode diagram.

I use the Student version of Pspice 9.1.  You can download it from: http://www.electronics-lab.com/downloads/schematic/013/

There's lots of tutorial material available.  You can do the frequency sweeps and get nice graphical outputs.  I use it for teaching circuits and simulating lab experiments.

Linear Technology's LTSpice IV is free, and there's no limit on the number of components or circuit nodes simulated.  You can find it here:

http://www.linear.com/designtools/software/

There's even an LTSpice Yahoo group if you need help.

LT Spice is the one to use. It is used by major companies for real design work. It's not just for hobbiests.

Using LTspice and it runs just fine on XP/SP3.   I know where you came from and this will make you smile - ALOT!
