Strangely enough, a survey showed that the largest number of infractions by manufacturers  were not technical, but in the paperwork....
Yeah Right  Wink
I remember about 15 years ago going to Jamaica to work on some equipment at a Data Entry center, the first thing they did when I arrived was to give me a tour of the place, so as I am walking around watching these ladies work their rears off typing when I notice that many of them are sitting on chairs that are just too high for the long benches that the keyboards are resting on.

From experience I know that this kind of arrangement will give you Carpal tunnel syndrome lickity split so I said in a low voice to the Manager, "Don't these women get Carpal Tunnel from working with their wrists in this position".  Well all she did was lean over and say to me "Please keep Quiet about stuff like that!"    Let me tell you that was the end of the tour for me, I was escorted right away to work on the problem and they kept me far from the employees.
I was a bit peeved at the attitude because I have friends who have suffered from this easily rectified disease and it bothers me to see people be so callous about stuff like this.  Two or three inches removed from the bottom of each wooden chair leg could save many of these women form years of agonizing pain and arthritic hands.

These amplifers are MRI amplifiers not linear amplifiers.

Their new super radio looks more interesting, -40db 3rd order TX IMD very impressive. Its more impressive on TX IMD than the R&S EK2000 Dr Rohde's favorite ham radio toy! Someone told me that he
has  Hilberling radio. At 13000  big euros, I hope it it has a decent receiver, this is Rohde & Schwarz pricing!

Rohde & Schwarz makes some nice 1kw HF amplifiers that can be combined  into a 10kw amplifier.

http://www2.rohde-schwarz.com/en/products/secure_communications/los_radiocommunications/M3SR_series_4100_software_defined_radio/M3SRSeries4100.html

I have used this system and its impressive in all aspects, certainly leave the primitive Harris equipment for dead!

German ham radio manufacturer Hilberling has some new amplifiers coming out. Head off to:

http://www.hilberling.de/en/en_son/index_en.htm

Click on the 'Ham Radio' button on the left and scroll down for the pictures whilst clicking on the 'Products' button will get you to datasheets and brochures. Two-tone tests at about 4 KHz show IMD as -43.49 dB.

No connection with the company (I wish!), just an interest in their technology.

MRI amplifiers are built into the equipment and operate about 63 MHz. The Amplifiers mentioned are EMI amplifiers and that is why the wide frequency coverage.

Well if it has Ferrari like performance for both the transmitter and receiver, it will be worth the price. However if on the other hand its an expensive ham radio toy with  a crap receiver and transmitter nobody will buy it.

The Hilberling is a UP conversion design  with a high IF,  so they must have some very good engineering  in it if it will top the K3's RX performance numbers. It will easily beat the K3 on TX IMD performance. But hey the Kenwood
TS990S is due out soon and that might be the best deal going for both RX and TX performance.

Ham radio has had such white elephants over the years, Signal Ones, KW380, FT-ONE FTD9000 and even today radios like the IC7700 and IC7800 have less than spectacular transmitter and receiver performance.

But dont worry some ham will buy the Hilberling and use it with a attic dipole in  HOA restricted zone!
