I just heard from Hamcity.com today and I have received my confirmation emails that my FT-817ND has shipped! For reference, I ordered the radio sometime in January. They're finally back in production!

Wow!  That's great news!  I'll be getting mine too, one of these days.  Enjoy!  Thanks for letting us all know.  I've been waiting to hear just this news.  What a great way to start the day!

Got my new FT 817ND last week just a few days after AES advised it had shipped. Very cool little radio. Makes my 897 look big!
I ordered mine in April and didn't learn about the production issue until after I ordered it.

There's one sitting my my shelf, in the closet.  But I do use it about once or twice a year for portable ops and it's a very slick little radio.

I can't use it at home with the beams, its receiver overloads and can't hear anything.

But with a small portable antenna, it's very cool.  I like it!  Last used it on our camping trip to Yosemite last year and worked into Singapore with it on 20CW, using an inverted vee up about fifteen feet in a tree branch. Smiley

I guess I wasn't clear enough.

If anybody is looking for a new FT-817, Austin Amateur Radio Supply has at least one in stock.
