I wonder what Ms. Goldie Eagle is doing today?     http://www.cbtricks.com/radios/browning/golden_eagle_mark_3/ad/graphics/cb_mag_apl_1974_pg07.gif

Probably playing solitaire at the nursing home. Wondering if there's enough Polident left in the tube to glue down her dentures tomorrow and, if not, will the luncheon desert be Jell-O?
Nothing beats Jell-O when your dentures want to slip. Just tilt your head the right way and the Jell-O will slide wherever you want it.

My suggestion is that of the radio is a restoration project, and you want it done right, order the rock from ICM...

I have only had my hands on one. It was built nicely. A friend brought it over DOA, and one of the bridges was fried. I replaced all the bridges and then recapped it for him at his request. worked like a charm.

Give kens a try (http://www.kenselectronics.com), he has quite a bit of old cb parts,
might just have what you need, good luck and have your son study for his ticket,
cb isn't what it once was, and ham radio offers so much more . . . .

Browning Golden Eagle Mark II series B with SSB15 transmitter
SSB & AM transmit; uses expensive 20pf crystals 10.695Mhz below channel frequency

K8AXW

As pointed out by AXW, the cystals are in fact cut 10.695mhz below the operating frequency for the Golden Eagle Mark III...

http://www.cbcintl.com/XTALS/Browning%20Mark%20III.pdf

The cystal you need is 16.490mhz, which will cover transmit and receive.
