I was in a bug mood last evening.

I recorded a couple of QSOs but thought the following one was interesting because the other operator was also using a Bug (Viz key Vertical bug). We were both operating the bugs at reduced speed so it doesn't have quite the drama of the typical 27wpm DITs and 15wpm DAHs of most bug QSOs I hear.

The recorded QSO is here...

Nice video, Rich. Even my XYL sitting next to me said she could copy it. What I love about a straight key and the bug is that they give your fist some character. The swing makes it easy to copy (for me, at least).

Thanks Craig.  Maybe I can convince my XYL to learn the code.  She's got her ticket but not interested in CW.

Thanks VK3MEG.  I wanted a callsign that was easy to copy in CW.  My previous call was N4PBQ and people seemed to mess up the 'B' in that call.  My CW mentor's callsign is AA4XX which sounds great in CW.

Wow, the Viz sure can go slow. Nice fists. I enjoy copying much more when the dit and dah lengths are reasonably proportional as in this QSO.
