I received this email tonight, Friday in the US, and was asked to pass it along in the DX Forum.  It is my pleasure to do so for my friends from India.  The message is from VU2UR, Arasu.

This messaged has been relayed by NU1O/Chris

The message from the VU7M team is as follows:

While we were putting a 229 or 329 CW signal to USA,
we did copy many calls and reply them too. Those replies
were NOT heard due to the heavy QRM on the frequency.
It is better that all Ws, who think they did hear
a bit of our reply, should write an E-mail to us, and
get a check made in the logs for confirmation or
otherwise. We do not want those about to achieve higher level
of awards should miss us in their attempts.

Did you get an email reply , Randy?  I have an email from Arasu and I'm not sure if I am supposed to rely it to the forum.

If I am to relay congrats to you.  Here is the message from Arasu.

"Randy is very much in the log for 18125 kHz SSB of 21st August.
Hearty Congrats to him."

Trevor,

I have never sent him an email until one hour ago when I asked what address I should send my donation to.  They did pay all of these expenses out of their own pocket so I do want to help them defray the costs.

He just wrote me an email and asked that I forward his message to the Eham forum. I did not start things with an email to him. I'll find out for certain when/if he replies to my email,  but I communicated with several Indian hams during the expedition and I never had a problem with their QRZ addresses or their email system so were I you I would send him the email to the QRZ address.

To all who worked VU7M,

I just sent Arasu, VU2UR, an email asking where the cash donations should be sent. He just replied and said all cash donations should be sent to the QRZ address for VU7M which is in Colombia, MD. They do not have a Paypal account and the US address is the most reliable.

I know I don't need to make a long plea for donations since most of you will do the right thing on your own. However, for those not aware of the situation our colleagues in India paid for this trip using their own funds. They had no sponsors from corporations or DX clubs.  Several are pensioners and I have no doubt this trip was very expensive for them.

Please do what you can afford.

Chris/NU1O

Chris, I owe you a big thanks for the relays.  I haven't heard anything from the VU7M team directly.  I replied to their email address on QRZ so it must be the one to use.  That was the last contact I made before I took down the quad and transferred it to my other tower.  Chris, thanks again!!

Congratulations Chris!!  With all the QRM that surrounded that lighthouse dxpedition, sure made working them difficult.  I could hear them several times anywhere from 54 to 57 in the clear.  The problem was they weren't in the clear much.

A message to those needing log checks from VU2UR, Arasu:

Any queries on the entries in the log of VU7M, may please be sent to me only. at this "vu2ur at mailcity.com" address VU2JHM gets burdened by too many mails. I will do the needful and reply fast. I am sure that satisfies many of those, to achieve their awards etc.,.

I hope they will go back soon.  Please work split and do not QRT just as the grayline is coming into the US.
