Hi;
I use my VX-150 to monitor railroad activity in my area. With the switch to Narrow Band, I have learned that the AAR channel frequencies will be changing.
Oddly, I found that I am not able to program all of the frequencies into my VX-150.
For example, I can program 160.9875Mhz, but not 160.6275Mhz. If I try to program 160.6275, the radio changes it to 160.6250Mhz.
I have the radio set for 5Khz steps, so I do not understand this issue.
Can anyone tell me what's wrong, and if there is a mod to fix it?

For now, I don't need the new AAR channels, as the railroads in my area are using Narrow Band, but are still on the same AAR channels as before.
However, I believe that the FCC mandate requires that they eventually switch to the new frequencies.

Thanks

FW

Your lowest frequency step is 5 kHz. You are asking for .5 kHz steps. I know from a different radio that using the up/down arrow buttons you can cheat. May be it is possible with the 150 as well.
