i am attempting to use digipan on a alienware m17 running win7 pro.
the problem is when i click the 'x' to exit the program, everything appears
to terminate normally.  however, when i attempt to start digipan again,
it can not open the com port, so i ctr alt delete, look at the processes
running and digipan *32 is still there. right click, select terminate
process does not end the process, the only way to clear digipan from
the process table is to reboot:-(  my user account has administrator
privileges.

any ideas??

tnx

Process Explorer might tell you what other modules and DLLs are loaded with the application.  That might provide some insights as to why it is hanging.  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx

Under Windows 7, hung processes are very frustrating because you can "kill" them many times and yet they will not quit.  I've had some luck with doing a complete uninstall (Revo Uninstaller is helpful), followed by a clean reinstall.

Good luck.
