I recently bought a Yaesu FT-530 off eBay, and it had not been modified for out-of-band TX or RX, so I went ahead and removed solder pad #13.  It now receives out-of-band, but TX is still restricted to the ham bands on UHF, and 140-150 on VHF.  Has anyone else had this problem?  If so, did you ever successfully open up the TX?  If so, how?  I am completely aware of the legality (or lack thereof) of transmitting outside the ham bands, but I would still like the capability; so please no comments on that subject.  Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, 73
