I recently acquired a Heathkit SB-102 with the callsign WA6KRA scratched into the chassis. This Heathkit was donated ages ago to a high school amateur radio club in Cameron Park, CA (Sacramento suburb). I'm curious as to who the original owner was. I figure that he went SK and his heirs weren't hams so they got rid of the equipment. The radio looks well used, and was missing the 0A2 tube. The O rings were broken and useless but in place. I took out the chassis from the cabinet and it appears that one of the electrolytic caps has been bypassed with a newer cap.

WA6KRA was "very briefly" issued to :

Winfield H. Edwards
169 Gemini Ave
Lompoc, Ca. 93436

in the very early 1970's. This is probably not your guy. In the later part of the 1970's, the call was issued to:

Richard O. Hofmann
1178 Carrie Lee Way
San Jose, Ca. 95118

He held the call until it expired in 2008. He would be 81 yrs old.
