What is the proper procedure when using SSTV on 14.230 -- do you use ssb first to ask if frequency is in use and do you just respond with your sstv qso when someone sends a CQ on that mode?  It seems that the transmissions are random and without "warning" and that ssb users sometimes come on in the middle of a sstv transmission.  Is there a formal procedure or has that not been standardized yet?

Thanks.

It's been a few years since I played with SSTV. At that time the communications was established on SSB - in fact most of the QSO occured on SSB. Stations announced when they were going to send a picture to the other station or stations.
