BTW, it is not the end of the world.  You can still get your junk fix for contest weekends.

Most folks won't be able to tell the difference between it an the real thing.

http://nbclatino.com/2012/11/17/will-twinkies-be-reborn-through-new-mexican-ownership/

If Budweiser is owned by Inbev of Brazil & Belgium, no reason why a Twinkie can't have a slight accent. I suspect Cheech Marin would have no problem with Mexi-Twinkies, especially when dealing with the munchies...............  Grin

In case you've never heard of Bimbo Bakeries, you're probably eating their goods already. http://www.bimbobakeriesusa.com/

Who knew that Sara Lee and Mrs. Baird were already salsa-fied, and Entenmann's too?

Oy!

Beer Twinkies!  Cool
They might get bought by the same company that owns Pabst Brewing.

I'm sure we will have a chinese version soon anyway (treenkies) so I wouldn't worry about it, after all there is always Beer and Pizza.
Cold beer and hot pizza is way better than a twinkie will ever be.

Ate one yesterday after I heard the news.

I'm good for another 20 years.

As for Wonder "bread," life's too short for that stuff. It's a little like McDonalds. Every so often I get the idea I want a Quarter Pounder or their french fries. Then, as soon as I'm done I always wonder what the hell I was thinking!
Every once in a while I think I "need" a Big Mac.  After I am halfway through it, I get the feeling that chewing on a 2x4 would taste better...

I remember a Twinkie with a strawberry flavored filling.  They didn't last long kinda like AM 2 meter repeaters.

going to miss those Devil Dogs!

Remember my first one, best five cents I ever spent back in 1965.

I hope the Twinkies are not made in China,
imagine a melamine cream filling with traces of cadmium, lead, chromium and PCB's.

Shocked  Actually, for fast energy during a prolonged ham radio frenzy.
nothing beats a "Chicken Fried" Crisco Sandwich on gummy white bread.

Ever since this thread started, I have wondered one thing:

Why is this in the Elmers forum instead of the Misc forum?  Huh

Because we are discussing Twinkies, that's why.. The number one midnight 80m snack ever.. How dare you even ask!!  Grin

BTW, last minute negotiations reveal that they struck a deal with the Bakers union.. The Twinkie will be back!! Even fresher than the ones on Ebay!!

Sure hope the Twinkie returns. Last year during the ARRL 10m contest, tossed a fresh Twinkie over a branch, connected with ladder line, got the swr down to 14:1, hollered into the mic, no contacts, got so worn out I ate my antenna. This year, wanting to do a Twinkie vertical, will let you know the result.
