Just for giggles, I am going to fill out a DX Marathon form
to see just how many entities I got this year.

Probably got 35 out of 40 zones.

More zones than I expected  37 out of 40
Missed 23, 24 & 26

181 DXCC's...I missed a LOT of close easy ones, but I hadn't
planned on doing anything for DX Marathon.

Score for marathon is 218
I missed 4 months due to illness, but that is NO EXCUSE
for crappy results.

embarrassing !

I'm not complaining  Grin

2012 brought me 10 ATNO's to finish at 319.  Killer!

I had set a goal of reaching 320 but missed PT0S.

I'm looking for a least 3 ATNO's this year...maybe more if I can snag the elusive Mt Athos
and Vatican City.

2012 wasn't a bad year. I slacked off the DX Marathon quest last year and only worked 243 for the year, about 25 fewer than I worked in 2011. I made 9489 QSOs for the year. I worked 3 new DXCC entities (Yemen, Malpelo and Auckland/Campbell) and 117 new DXCC Challenge points (band-countries) were added. This year I intend to snag at least 250 DXCC entities and I'm going to try for 10,000 QSOs if possible.

Congratulations on #1HR!

I worked 258 DXCC countries in 2012, along with 202 for the Diamond.

I'm quite pleased with all the trans--polar stuff I've been able to work--you don't necessarily need to be on the water or on a mountain to work XX9 (4 bands), JT(4 bands), 9N1, VK9X, VK9C, VU7, A5, XU, and 1S.

I worked Mt Athos on Digital, CW, and Phone!

Set myself a target of 200 on 12m in the year.... just managed it with 201, close run thing with my mast/antenna blown down at the end of November, lost nearly a month and I was stuck on 198 up until a week before xmas. Digging out a new base and concreting was an experience in December! Aslo Managed 200 on 10m for second year running.

Year total was 261, missed out on ZL9 and 7P while antennas were down.... although I was on vacation for much of ZL9 activity.

Pretty good year here with 100 watts and a dipole.  Worked 2 ATNOs (7O and E4).  New band/mode countries numbers for 2012:

CW: 7O
SSB: SU, TT, JX
RTTY: 20 including 1A0, E4, EY, HB0, VP8F, HK0M

80m: 3 (PJ7, NH8S, C2)
60m: 1 (KG4)
40m: 2 (VP6, UP) plus a zone 18!
30m: 9 (A3, CU, JT, C2, VP6, 5B, 5T, ZL9, 9M6)
20m: 6 (PJ7, 7O, E4, BY, FJ D2)
17m: 6 (TK, 1A0, D2, CT3, R1FJ, TU)
15m: 7 (TT, 7O, 4L, R1FJ, C2, FJ, TU)
12m: 19 (includes P2, R1FJ, ER, CY0, FK, 3D2C, OJ0, FW, HK0M, EL, 5T)
10m: 5 (ZD7, NH8S, TU, 5JN, EL) and a zone 18!

It was obviously a good year for me for 12m.  That is a great band.  Missed PT0S altogether, could have used them on CW.  Most of all, it was fun!  Even got 5 new grids on 6m, 6 new grids and a new state (Conn.) on 2m.

Can't wait until 2013!

it shows I've worked 273 DXCC entities and 39 zones just for 2012, not bad.
Thanks Randy AJ4RW

Nice stats!! and only one more zone to go  Smiley

ATNO's here for 2012:
Afghanistan - T6LG
Bhutan - A52PP
"New" Republic of Sudan - STØR
Timor Leste - 4WØVB
Auckland & Campbell Is - ZL9HR

The first 4 are already verified by ARRL.
ZL9HR Okay via LoTW - Not submitted yet and will be #331.
I think that gets me HR  Grin

For the year:
Mixed +4
CW +5
Phone +7
Digital +11

And several bands 80-6 Meters.
That's just via LoTW. I haven't submitted the QSL cards yet.

I made a stab at Diamond DXCC. Though it wasn't my best effort because I found out late, and other reasons, I did not make it. I had 116 entities. However, after I started the application on Dec 26, I found that most of those (like Yugoslavia) were dupes or multiples that only counted for one, and I was reduced to 82! LOL. Too damn late for catching up !
