ATV using 2 Laptops Direct, no internet or router

I remember reading a few years back about a group of hams experimenting
on 2.4GHz with Video and Audio transmitting direct via the WiFi adapter and laptops.
No internet or Router.  I think the WiFi adapter was in Adhoc mode.

I can't find any info on this.  Would anyone have any info they can post
or send to n1kk@arrl.net
