Anone using the Soft66LC4 SDR Receiver with external USB Sound card?

Hello,

  My name is James, call is ki6jd..  I purchased this SDR receiver and have not been
having too much sucess in getting it to receive any thing.  I would like to hear from
someone that has this set up and can offer some setting advise... I know it will work,
just hard to understand the setup.  Came with NO paper work or instructions... If some
one has a link to set up or any thing of that nature, would appreciate hearing from you.
I have been trying HDSDR but open to other software programs..   Thanks  James  ki6jd

I purchased the receiver directly from Ja7tdo...  I know about his web
site... I have been there several times.  I have watched the You Tube
demo of the receiver in action, but due to Japanese language, I am not
able to discern what is going on...  I do not understand the tuning on the
HDSRD video...  He is jumping around to various frequencies and I cannot
determine what in the software is actually doing the tuning...  I understand
that Rocky software may work and I will give that a try today... I will NEVER
purchase any new piece of gear that does not come with some kind of
documentation and support.....  I should have know better, but I think there
must be someone besides myself that have worked through the difficulties?

Am I the only fool that spent $118... On a problem that drives me crazy?

If you are feeding IQ signals into the sound card you may need and isolator for it to work.  Radio Shack makes one I am using with an External Sounblaster card and the Isolator is the difference be working and not working.  I have a setup article for the KX3 that describes things in a moderate level of detail on how I am making it work.

You are not going to get much help without you describing your exact setup in detail  - sound card, computer, operating system, etc...  It amazes me that so many guys cry and whine about something not working and ask for help, but yet don't think to take the time to describe their situation and exact difficulty.  I don't know how you think anyone is going to be able to help you with your lack of information provided.

I have one and have had it working on HDSDR.
You need to download the extsoft66***.dll file from this site.
http://soft66winrad.sourceforge.net/
Then unzip it and put it in the same file as the HDSDR program.
The Soft66LC4 works okay but with HDSDR it will not work below 2.5Mhz.
I just found this out after a few heated e-mails with the designer.
He says the only software that will run it on the lower frequencies is his software.
I never saw this stated anywhere and it makes me a little mad.
 I have a softrock that I built myself and it seems to work much better than the
Soft66LC4.
I am glad I only paid the newer $88 price and I am going to sell it.
My opinion is that it indeed does work but is not well supported and does not work well.
