I'm a newbie setting up my first shack. Can I connect my ground pad doe my shack to a cooper line run to the ground rod driven for my home/ I see that the cable people and phone people have connected to it, so wondering if I can also connect to it. Or do I need to drive a new rod for my schack ground??

Yes, you can use that rod. If you drive your own ground rod, NEC requires you to bond the two of them together.

We are Coulomb of Borg. Resistance is futile. Voltage, on the other hand, has potential.
