I am looking for a free or demo tracking software.  It needs an update function to download new keps.   What would you recommend?  What I am finding are old programs.

Try SatPC32:

The free trial version requires you to enter your configuration - callsign, QTH, etc. - every time you start the program, until you purchase the license key from AMSAT.  SatPC32 will use an Internet connection to update the elements, from several predefined sources that you can choose from.  Erich DK1TB, the author of the program, has a lot of information about SatPC32 on his site...

Good luck & 73!

Gnome Predict (Gpredict): http://gpredict.oz9aec.net/download.php

free, open source, uses hamlib for rig/rotator control, built for all the popular OSs.

There's also a few Android apps. I use HamSatDroid, which works fairly well, although could be better.

JSatTrack: http://www.gano.name/shawn/JSatTrak/

It's Java based so it works on a variety of platforms (Mac, Windows, Linux) and it can download new keps off the Internet.

I downloaded SatPC32 and cannot get it to display multiple satellites.  I found the and checked the box for multiple sats, but I cannot display them.

Go into the sats pop-up box, and using "show on/off" make sure the asterisk is next to each satellite. Do this and they will all display.

Hi Randy,
I suggest Ham Radio Deluxe 5.24 which has SatTrack or Orbitron. HRD is much more modern and has Rotor emulation as well as some other sweet things.

I second that.  The HRD SatTrack module is well done with a very clean visual of the satellite track.
