I put my station back together after a year hiatus and tuned around a bit. With the WPX contest going on I wandered around the CW portions of the bands, made a few contacts to make sure everything was working fine (it is) and then I went to the bottom of 10 M and was greeted with LOTS and LOTS of AM in what I am assuming is Spanish.  The cycle being what it is, it has been awhile since I listened there.  Is this a new thing, or am I just now becoming aware of something that has been going on for a while?

They've been around for at least a couple of years that I know of; I've heard it said that some of them are South American taxi companies and other businesses who need radio communications.  I don't find them much bother, myself.  They're a nuisance, but there's still plenty of fun down there around 28005.  :-)   But we shouldn't talk about how much fun 10m CW can be, or we'll start getting a lot of competition for the DX there.  Wink

I've heard them at the bottom of 10M back to at least 10 years ago, on and off. I just figured they were Mexicans who were using 10M as CB.
