What cables and where do I get them?
The last amp I had was a Heathkit Warrior.  I should of kept it.
Thanks,
Jack

The warrior is rare and if in good order I would keep it as it will only be worth more over time as a collectable.

I have the FT450D and the AL80B. You need a mini din to RCA. Purchased mine on e-baY about $20 - $25. If you can find the connector, you can build one for less.

Jack, have you looked at your owner manuel for the info?
Have you looked on the radio back panel for the jack marked "LINEAR".
.
A look at the AL80B back panel shows an RCA jack marked 'RLY' the keyup lead connection.
Just wondering.

Hi

I bought a mini din connector and bought a very cheap RCA cable with connectors both were 1 euro each.
Cut of one RCA connectroe from the cable and soldered this cable to the mini-din.

I made 2 of these one for the FT857D and one for the FT450 they are the same and work on both rigs.
These cables still work FB after 3 yrs of use.

Hello Jack,
You will need a din for the radio end and a RCA plug for the amp. Here is a link to buy one for around 20 bucks. Most standard din plugs will not fit your radio so best easies way is to buy one made up for your specific radio.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/8-PIN-MINI-DIN-LINEAR-CABLE-YAESU-FT-817-FT-847-FT-840-/350415986192. This is one source, there are probably some others.
Good luck
