1.  I purchased a CD-47 Vertex Desktop Charger for my Yaseu FT-250.

2.  It didn't come with a User's Manual.

3.  Right now - I get a blinking RED LIGHT - is that normal?

4.  Can I assume a solid GREEN LIGHT means it is charged?

Thanks!

The charger for my Wife's VXR-5 behaves the same way.  It can take up to 24 hours if the battery was fully depleted for the red light to stop flashing and even as long for the green light to come on.

Everything I can find indicates that a solid red LED indicates charging and solid green indicates fully charged.  Nothing on flashing red.

First thing I'd complain about the missing manual.
If it is similar to the CD-15A then steady red means charging, blinking red charging soon complete. Charging done, steady green.

Thanks everyone.  I sent an e-mail to the company and will let you know if they (even) reply and if they do - what they say.

I recently got that charger off Ebay from a Chinese vendor. No instructions and the power plug is the European 2 pin type, but the adapter to convert it to a Edison plug was included. I think it was only $27.

The charger light goes yellow briefly when the battery is inserted and then stays solid red for a couple of hours or so while the battery charges, then goes solid green when complete.

Thanks AC2KV - I also got this puppy off of EBay.  My light also goes yellow briefly (when the battery is inserted) but blinks red.  It has been plugged into for three hours now and still blinking - we will see.

Thanks!

I'd check the voltage like every hour. That should give some information.

Wow - actually got a phone call from Vertex (sent them an e-mail)!  They said the blinking RED LIGHT means the battery needs to be replaced.

UPDATE:  Just got a new battery - I now have a solid red light so it is now charging.
