My TS-130S works very well on all bands, however although it receives on 17 meters, it will not transmitt. Any suggestions?

On some Kenwoods with the early version WARC bands, those bands come from the factory disabled. Not sure if that was done on the `130 or `120. If it was, there`s probably a diode that needs to be cut to enable 17m operation. Or a wire to be cut to enable the 3 WARC bands, like on the TS-830S. If so,the info should be in your manual.

Did they have a mod for each WARC band? I never knew they came disabled. Good info.

If it`s the same as the TS-830S,each band had a diode to disable xmit. You could either cut all 3 or a wire which would enable transmit on all 3 bands. This info is in the `830s manual, but again I don`t know if it was done for the `130. When these rigs were made the WARC bands were not yet legal to tranmit on.

That did it. I got out the manual and according to the directions, I unpluged J5 on the RF board and that did the trick. Thank you my friends. Look for me on 17M.
