He was my dad's old college buddy, born around 1944, died of cancer maybe 15 years ago. He worked out of California. I had my first ham experience with him as a little boy; he lent my brother and I a set of bit HTs and we had a grand old time in an orchard, until my little bro bent the telescopic antenna in some tree limbs. I didn't get into ham again for 20 years, but I still remember that day, our first day with decent walkie-talkies.

I wonder if any of you long-time hams remember him or knew him at all.
