Got a real problem child desktop running win xp home.

It has issues namely it cannot SEND email (note it can receive email) test message responds with "Please check email address".
Before you get to it yes I have checked and rechecked all the login, ports, names, authentications, and passwords. I am quite certain they are correct! I have three other machines that work fine with the mail provider and verified their settings.

Also, I am unable to log into some websites that require a password login. I double checked the password on a machine sitting right next to the problem child (connected to the same router) and it works fine both email and browser.

I have run malwarebytes and checked the registry, while they found a few minor issues nothing of real importance was found.

Short of taking a shotgun and reinstalling (have some irreplaceable software) any ideas?

Have you opened a ticket with your E-mail service?  Maybe your account is locked/blocked.  We certainly can't help.

Solved...

There was a process from zone alarm running even though zone alarm had been disabled years ago.

That and getting sp3 for office xp problem solved.

Many thanks.
