Zorro, JH1AJT is currently in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, on a Foundation for Global Children (FGC) mission.

He received amateur radio operating permission on 13th August from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), good until 12th September 2013.

He brought his TS-590 and two GPs for 20 and 17m. He will be signing XZ1Z until Saturday, 17th August on his very limited spare time. Even if you miss this time, he will be back in XZ land in September again.

QSL to JH1AJT. P.O. Box 8, Oiso, Naka-gun, Kanagawa 259-0111, Japan.

Thanks Col!
I was just about to head to bed when I read your message here.
A quick check of the DX Cluster revealed that Zorro had just started on 20 m phone AND I had propagation that way! It took some persistence and the help of my AL-82, but we're in the log.
Zorro is working NA, JA and EU, so it is now a zoo, but VK and even South Africa is getting through.
It is good to see Burma back on air again.
Good luck to all,

Nice catch, congrats!.  Sounded like a feeding frenzy when I listened besides his real weak signal into
Florida.

Prolly be a bit easier to work him on CW.  Does Zorro work CW at all?

People are questioning if he is legit or his call is real on the spotter. What is up with that?

He was giving his call as XZ1Z and with my very limited Japanese all the JA's he worked thanked him for the new one as I did.

He supposedly has a valid license, but obviously we will have to wait until the DXCC approves it.  He seems to have quite a few contacts in SE Asia, so that leads me to believe it will count.

Supposedly he will also be QRV in early September.  Activity this trip will be limited... perhaps more early next month.

GL to all who need XZ!  I'm currently QRT and start to move this weekend.  Hope to be back on the air shortly from a new hilltop QTH.

I just looked on LOTW and he does have an account under his home call. I hope he uploads his log from XZ1Z because that will be number 296 for me  Grin.

I think he may get LoTW organised for this, he knows the demand... but he hasn't bothered with LoTW for a few lesser ones around the world that I've worked him from, VP8, PY... he was part of the S21YZ dxped, Which was LoTW.

Still not a whisper here in NJ and I doubt there will be until the fall, if at all. Jammers are 30 over 9, of course. But here's hoping the Myanmar gov't will get positive feedback from Zorro's operation and may be amenable to granting permission to a bigger team with amps somewhere down the road.

His signal is blasting into CO for the last half hour or so.  The sad part is that he's only working JAs with a few HLs and HS'.  It's frustrating to say the least Angry

He's working NA right now according to the cluster. He is in the noise for me. I can barely make out anything.

But it's already pretty much a lidfest.

I wish he was doing CW.

The 'North America only' was the savior that I needed.  He's in the log at 14:53z.  GL to those who need XZ.
