Is it possible to use digital modes (PSK, Olivia, MSK, etc) using the FM modulation on a 2M repeater HuhHuh (NOT asking/using  CW).

Just heard two hams on local 2M repeater. They were using FLDIGI software and testing out some digital-modes using the 2M repeater.

It'll work but you loose the weak-signal benefits of most of these modes when you use FM. It may make the repeater users unhappy if they use the repeater. A simplex frequency would be more suitable.

If you use it with a 2M SSB transceiver then you retain the weak-signal benefits and the narrow bandwidth.

It may work, it may not.  The first potential problem that comes to mind is having a long enough TX delay to allow for repeater key up.  Packet hardware/software has settings for that.  Most recent digital modes do not.

Poor repeater PLL tone filtering could be another problem.

I recommend talking to the repeater owner about such operations to get his approval.

Most popular is MT-63 2k.

It really works well.

Yes it will work but you need to keep the bottom of the pass band above 500 or it will get filtered off. Our ARES group does  weekly digi net mostly on simplex but we have tried repeater use wit HT's where simplex would not make it and it works fine. One other thing to remember is to keep transmissions under 3 min. so you don't time out the repeater.
