Anyone find an appropriate pack for the FT-817?  The shoulder strap is nice (well, it would be if I had one.  When I bought my 817 used through eBay the guy said he forgot to put it in the box, so he just threw it in the packing.  By the time I found that out, the packing was thrown away!)  but when I cart my DSLR around I have a nice camera bag that holds more than I put around my neck for instant use.  Extra lens, flash, etc.

I'm wondering if anyone has turned up a nice bag for the rig that could hold things like different cords, ATU, etc...

I kept mine in a lowepro nova 190 aw camera bag. Room for 817, tuner, 7Ah sla batterry, couple of wire antennas, key, mike, charger and various connectors and misc.. Not cheap but would hold entire station. Not just for fun, living in Florida there is always possibility of hurricane or other reasons to "bug out" so it was my throw in the car and go emergency station. Still use the nova 190 but it holds a Kx3 now.  Smiley

Mine is in a "pistol case," about $20 from Amazon.  I carry it where I'm going, hook up power and an antenna, and I'm having fun!

Pelican 1075 case (made for tablets). Haven't tried it in the field yet and doesn't hold external battery pack, but might work with the right paddles:
