I recently purchased 2 MD-1C used microphones for use with a 726 and a 736R. These mikes have up down switches on them. They do not work with these radios. I took the bottom off one and the cables do not have enough conductors to properly wire the up down feature. What gives? Mike

I have an MD-1C , opened it up , it has 8 wires. How many does yours have? Someone replaced the cable with a 5 wire?

Both of mine have 3 wires in the cable going to the radio. What are the odds they both would be changed. And why. These came from 2 different parties. Just seems odd. Mike

Microphone Connections answers virtually any microphone question.

Not really.
Depends on who was selling the microphones (when new) ... some CB shops set up "mod operations" to sell amateur equipment to the freeband/pirate radio crowd.
