I'm trying to use the USB I/O on my Icom IC-9100 with a Macbook Pro running Fldigi. I have the audio working just fine, but the "serial port" for controlling the radio isn't. I can see the the radio ports under /dev/tty.SLAB_USBtoUART and SLAB_USBtoUART12, but when I enter either of them into fldigi it won't initialize. I have used this radio on a Linux machine without any problems.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

On my IMAC, I make adjustments to the Rig control. DTR, RTS, RTS+12 etc.    I found that need to restart the computer between adjustments because the USB can get jammed up.  Another words, I may have the found the right combination of settings, but the USB is hung from prior settings.

I find that I have better luck in FLDIGI selecting fewer settings (with a USB radio) DTR, RTS, RTS+12 etc, to start with.  Then add a setting and restart, then try it. Be methodical.

Thanks, I'll mess around and see what works.

One other question, are you using hamlib? If so did you compile from source or just use the version included with FLdigi? On my Linux boxes I have to compile from source just because I had problems with gpredict.

Just to follow up, I also posted to the Linuxham Yahoo group. Someone mentioned FLRig, which I tried and it works like a charm.
