Here's the manual on your IDA repeater board.  I've never used one.

I always do my repeater interfaces through the tone remote interface (which I doubt your unit has).  It has a nice compressor/limiter that evens out the audio nicely.  The are mainly found only on units with the large card slot cage.

Just gave that GE manual a quick read-over.  No dice on the build-in ID.  It only controls timeout timers, drop out delays, and gives an alert tone for a dead battery back-up (all that was required on commercial set-ups of the day).

If you're going to use an ID-O-Matic, I'd suggest wiring it to the local mic connector (with appropriate DC blocking capacitors and level-adjusting pots).  You're still not going to get set-up and knock-down, courtesy tones, and voice announcements that come with a real controller.
