This is to Paul, N6PSE appears you check this forum for feedback so here is my 2 cents, heard DJ9ZB  on 20 ssb at 1300z with s7 signals on my crooked path around 210 degrees, he was in here about 30 minutes then no copy here, so fairly small opening for us in south Texas, also the cw op on 15 last night at 0000z was s5 till he moved to ssb then no copy, hopefully this is good info as you seem to have little trouble working the east and west coast, 73 Dan WG5G.

Dan, thanks for 20M LP info. I will check that for curiosity sake tomorrow. Me being farther east and vertical vs your quad. He sure was not there long. 1300Z must have been close to your sunrise. Sometimes 20M LP takes some time after sunrise to build up.

Well I've managed to work them on 3 bands now, both SSB and CW, so that's ATNO #3 for me just in this month! Now if I can manage to snag VU7, this could be one of the best DX'ing months ever for a lot of us. And of course, Paul could make a side trip to P5 since they are so close to round it out Grin

Dan's a hundred miles or so south of me, and was hearing him better than I, s5 was about it here, and yeah, right at sunup.  Nothing when I switched to the vertical. Very short opening.

XZ1Z in September I never heard in the morning. 17cw, 15m cw/ssb were between 01:13-02:19.

Maybe you can catch them in the evening, Tony. I'd like a /m qso myself. Good luck.

East coast is our most difficult area, we are beaming zero degrees to work you

You were a good 55 here in North Carolina around 12:30 GMT on 15m ssb this morning   Thanks for being there. I heard W2IRT work you.

I did hear XZ1Z the last morning or two. I also heard him in the evening. The morning was 17M and that was better than 15M in the evening for me. I can't tell any difference in signal levels now with higher SFI than back in September. Maybe they will find a band and time for central and east U.S.
I still think that would be 20M. LP morning and afternoon. SP path early evening.

I may have to drive to NY to work em LP or Cal for SP QSO. hihi

I have worked nearly everything around there mobile in Texas, but this XZ has been unusually tough. That area of the world, even with big antennas, has always been difficult from here.

They are there but you are not going to hear them very often. Take a look at the prop curves.

12 meters and 17 meters were wide open today to VK, JA, etc., but I never heard XZ1J.  Apparently they spent the whole day on 40 and 80 where I couldn't have a shot at hearing them.  CW is best way to go on this one.  I will listen on 15 and 12 tomorrow morning at 1200Z.  I hope to catch this one as it is the last one for Honor Roll for me.

The Sweepstakes contest is celebrating its 80th anniversary.  I made some contacts on 10 meters but I'd much rather work Burma on 14.180. That's not going to happen until Monday morning at the earliest unless they switch to CW!!!
